Unani medicine - How it works


Greceo Arabic Medicine known as Unani Medicine which is completely made from Herbal, minerals and Natural resources

The System of Unani Medicine started in the ages of Hippocrates in Greece and is also known as Greceo-Arabic medicine. The system came to India through traders from Greece,Arabs and grew more after the invasion of Mughals. The system depends on Herbal, mineral and Natural resources. Like Siddha (TamilNadu), Ayurvedic/ Ayurveda(Indian) system of Medicine follow the system of Hot, Cold, Dry and Moist. To be very precise and the common system Vatha, Kappa, Pitha and the Chakras.

The system again deals with the cure basically with monitoring and feeling of pulses, urine and feces of the patients (called nubs, bol and bharas). As there are various system of the reading the pulses totaling around & more than 45 types, it is very essential to take care of the basic diagnosis of the subject -patient. By getting the proper diagnosis then the cure is determined. It also depends on the system of Blood(Raktha)- Phalgam(Air -oxygen/carbon dioxide etc), Safra & Sautha (Liver/Bile and related substance). When there is a imbalance in these systems then disease and disorders occur.

By correlating the nature of Hot, Cold, Dry and Moist with the Blood components the patient is treated for the cure.
