Blood sugar monitor is a small device that diabetes patients use to test and monitor their blood glucose level regularly at home. This device has a small sharp needle called lancet which can pull a small drop of the blood on your finger. This blood is applied to a glucose test strip which is placed on the blood sugar monitor. When the blood is applied, the monitor will analyse the blood and show your blood sugar level in the digital screen within few seconds.

2. Lancing Device: This is a pen-like device in which you place the lancets. This device is used to draw blood from fingers or other parts of the body, depending on the monitor type.

3. Lancet: Lancets are special needles to draw blood. It is recommended to change the lancet each time you test blood, even though many people seem be using the same lancets for few times to save money.
