Yoga is the natural and the easiest way of leading a healthy way of life. Just half-an hour Yoga practise a day can fill you with new vigour and energy. In order to get the best result, we should keep the some essential things in mind while practising Yoga.
1. Choose a plain place for doing asans.
2. Spread a mat, blanket or sheet on the floor before doing an Asan.
3. Be calm and quiet while doing an asan. Never be in a hurry.
4. Concentrate wholly on the asan you are about to perform.
5. Don't try to practise asans merely by reading books or watching television. Try to take help from an experienced coach.
6. While doing an asan, breathe through your nose only and not through your mouth.
7. Always practise Yogasans and Pranayams in an empty stomach.
8. Vajrasan is the only asan, which can be practised immediately after a meal.
9. Practising asans for thirty minutes a day is sufficient for getting rid of any kind of diseases.
10. Once perfected in an asan, it is sufficient to practiset for five seconds only.
11. Don't try to practise all the asans everyday; do only as much as you can practise comfortable within thirty minutes.
12. Shabasan after every asan and Sitilasan in between is very useful.
13. Never practise Pranayams after asans; rather practise asans after Pranayams.
14. Maintain a gap of minimum twenty minutes between Surya Namaskar and other asans.
15. Neither drink not eat anything till half an hour after the asan. Don't take bath even.
16. In case of feeling the urge for natural calls while doing an asan, get rid of it at once.
17. Women under menses should not practise asans.
18. Pregnant women should not practise any asan causing pressure on the abdomen.
19. Try to urinate after asans. There are many advantages of it.
