Common diseases in women


Inspired by an article in a Tamil Magazine, I am writing this resource which talks about the top 5 diseases about which women should be aware of and women should take care about.

Though not accepted by many, it is an universal fact that women work much more than men. The women could be home maker or a working woman, the work load of a woman is almost 3 times more than that of a men. Not that today's men share the work load of women, still the work load is quite high. Just the same as the work load, the diseases the women get are also high.

Most of the women, of the previous generation, have definitely neglected their personal health. Even in today's generation, not all are quite aware of the different diseases that attack them.

The Top 5 diseases women should be careful about are:
1. Heart diseases
2. Breast Cancer
3. Osteoporosis
4. Depression
5. Auto Immune diseases

1. Heart Diseases
It is a taboo that men are prone to heart attacks and heart diseases than women. But the truth is the opposite. Because of that taboo that prevails, women even if they get symptoms of heart attacks, they just ignore it as gastric troubles. Of the diseases that take the toll of the life of women heart diseases form 29%.

It is absolutely necessary for every women to take up master check up after their 35th birthday.

2. Breast Cancer
Another disease that women have to be knowing about and have to be careful about is the breast cancer. After the menopause, most of the harmones in the women's body stop secreting. As ever, the women, try not to give much importance to their personal health. They stop exercising. Now a days many women, just like men have started smoking, chewing pan etc which have changed the entire life style which inturn have increased the vulnerability of women to breast cancer.

After 30 years, every women should go for a mammogram to check whether they have breast cancer. But all at the same time, it will be better for women to keep themselves obstained from smoking and pan.

3. Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a disease that attack almost 68 to 70% of women. It is a disease that attack the bones and weaken them which makes the bones too brittle. The bones broke even when they fall down. The bones start loosing their strength as the women grow older and older. They lack the basic calcium that they should have and also they get anemic during pregnancies which continue.

After many researches, tests have been formulated to find out the bone density and women should make use of them.

Prevention is better than cure and so young girls and teens have to be given Vitamin D rich foods and calcium rich foods to avoid Osteoporosis in their older age.

4. Depression
The worst of all diseases, which never shows its symptoms untill it reaches the intense level. Depression is the first step to heart attack and heart diseases. 1 women out of 8 are attacked by depression. Depression is the extreme level of stress and one have to take precautions to reduce the stress and tension in their life.

Women should learn to keep themselves cool and calm in what ever be the situation and they have to ensure their mental stability.

5. Auto Immune Diseases
As the women don't take care of themselves much, their immune system start going down and at one point of time most of their immune system is reduced considerably. This makes them more vulnerable to many diseases which spread easily. There are hundreds of such conjuctive diseases that women get quite faster and easier.

It is always better to maintain the body health and fitness to avoid getting such diseases.

Over all, today's women have to be much more careful about what they eat and what they do in their day to day life to keep themselves away from diseases especially the above 5 diseases.
