Diaper Rash in Babies - How to identify the reason


Diaper Rashes are quite common in babies. Kids affected with diaper rashes are a main concern for the new moms. It have to be identified at the early stage and prevention is always better than cure.

Diaper Rashes are common conditions that many young mothers experience in thier small babies. Diaper rashes occur even when the diapers are changed frequently. Babies in the age group of 4 months to 18 months get affected by diaper rashes quite frequently.

Reasons for Diaper rashes in babies:

Sensitive skin - Babies with sensitive skin react to new dresses, new shampoo, new lotions and even new detergents (which also cause irritation, inspite of washing and drying thoroughly)

Diapers left unchanged - The unchanged diapers which are wet causes irritation in the skin. The acid in the stool and urine are the major cause of this type of diaper rash.

Rubbing or chaffing - Diapers that hug the skin tightly or keep rubbing the skin ever results in rubbing and chaffing and this also causes diaper rashes.

Bacterial or yeast infection - Unchanged diapers promotes bacteria and yeast if the baby is in the wet too long.

Remedies for diaper rash:
The babies should be given to the babies without any products. Dont rub the affected parts instead pat it dry. The rash affected part have to be let stayed undressed and the area have to be exposed to the fresh air. The diaper affected area have to be applied with diaper rash creams based on lanolin.

Home made remedy for diaper rash:
Splashing the diaper rash area with warm water mixed with handful of oatmeal.
