Accupressure, one of the forms of alternate medicine, helps a lot in treating many of the common diseases and also helps in getting the entire body relaxed. If learnt properly, any one can do it for self and also for others.

Accupressure the touch therapy - is a method in which the pressure points of the body especially the nerve endings are touched and pressed with the finger tips especially the thumb. At times even some special devices are also used to give pressure to the points. The pressure given to the specific points helps in triggering the muscle tension and helps in circulating the blood and helps in renewing the force energy level of our body.

Accupressure was not known untill the middle of the last century. But currently that technique is used in many massage schools in America as a part of their body work programs. (Shiatsu massage is related to accupressure as it works on the points of the body just like accupressure does.) Shiatsu massage is from Japan but accupressure is from China.

Accupressure's main principle and concept is reflexology. Accupressure therapy helps not just curing but also in prevention of major health conditions including headaches, general cold, flu, cough, toothaches and lot more. The healing touch of accupressure helps in releiving tension (which massages do), increase blood circulation and helps the body to relax and get releived from stress.

The wonderful thing about Accupressure is it can be performed even by a layman after learning the pressure points and techiques which are quite easy to learn. Accupressure is quite safe and gentle and helps in curing and releiving from pains and aches.
